    • Placement Proposal (F2)

Student and Supervisor work collaboratively to build three placement objectives to define placement goals.  The submission of this form authorises the placement and it must be submitted by the agreed deadline.

Log of Hours (F10.1 and F10.2)

It is beneficial to make sure the Log of Hours is filled out weekly to maintain accuracy but does not need to be handed in until the submission of the Mid-Year assessment (F3), and then again with the End of Year Assessment (F4).

      Mid-Year Assessment (F3)

Mid-Year assessments happen in early February, after the first semester of placement, and allow supervisors to review how the student has settled into their role. At this time, we encourage you to work with your placement student to adjust objectives as necessary. This also gives students the opportunity to raise any concerns, or to discuss different desired area of work experience.

We will email you a reminder of the above link nearer the time. Students will also ask you to authorise placement hours to this point by signing their Log of Hours (F10). To ensure a consistent level of commitment across the whole year, we will authorise no more than 45 hours in the first semester (though the student is welcome to do more).

As the student’s timetable may change in Semester 2 it is advised that the supervisor and student review the student’s weekly commitments at the placement church.

      End of Year Assessment (F4)

Year-end assessment happens at the end of placement and allows supervisor and student to reflect on achievements, his or her areas of growth and areas of development. The F4 provides a testimonial of a student’s capabilities and character and they will include it in their Personal Development Portfolio designed to help them in their employment search after college. Hours reflected in the second Log of Hours, together with the Log of Hours from Semester 1, must total a minimum of 72 for Level 4 and 82 for Level 5, in order to pass the module.

We would ask that you contact us in good time if you have concerns as to whether your student(s) will reach this total before the deadline. In the context of mitigating circumstances, where a failure to meet a deadline is beyond their control, it is possible to apply to the Registrar for an extension – but this must be done in a timely fashion.
