Once we have established a relationship with a church or organisation and have allocated a placement student we expect that students and supervisors will work collaboratively to submit key placement documents which are:
The Placement Proposal is a chance for you and your placement student to explore areas of ministry that the student should get involved in and collaboratively identify specific roles and objectives. Objectives should relate to at least one of the Key Development Areas outlined below. They should also be action-orientated and S.M.A.R.T.
KEY DEVELOPMENT AREAS
1) Communication
effective oral communication in individual, group and congregational settings
appropriate use of a range of communication styles and techniques
2) Working with others
being an effective team member and leader
ability to establish and maintain co-operative working relationships
effective personal administration
3) Improving learning and performance
setting personal objectives which are S.M.A.R.T.
implementing and monitoring performance against personal objectives
assessing and responding to the feedback of others
4) Problem solving
ability to identify problems and provide viable solutions
ability to put solutions into practice and monitor their effectiveness
5) Christian formation
evidence of theological reflection upon the learning experience
maintenance and growth of personal relationship with God
evidence of growth in Christian character and spiritual maturity
encouragement of others in their discipleship.
Please be mindful that, without the submission of the Placement Proposal (F2) and all required paperwork, Vocational Services cannot authorise the placement. Barring exceptional circumstances, hours completed before authorisation will not be recognised. If an issue arises around this, please contact Vocational Services.
