Section outline

    • Greetings from the London School of Theology!

In this section, we aim to give you details about our Practical Placement Programme here at LST and information to help you decide whether you can commit to supervising one of our students on placement. This information is both for organisations offering placement on a weekly basis, through LST term-time, and organisations offering placement more intensively through an LST vacation. We believe it is vital that academic learning is combined with practical application and character formation. Practical Placement provides an effective training and mentoring environment for students to identify and develop their knowledge, skills, and spiritual gifts for Christian engagement on a practical level within a safe ministerial and/or vocational context.

We would ask that you read through the applicable sections of this information and then, if you would like to proceed, fill out the relevant forms. We need these forms in order to authorise placement.

This information is broken up into four components:
      1.    About Placement
      2.    Expectations

      • Expectations of Students
      • Expectations of Placement Organisations
      • Expectations of Supervisors
      • What you can expect from LST
      • Other Considerations for term-time placements

      3.    Process

      • Getting started for term-time placement
      • Getting started for vacation placement
      • Setting up placement
      • Process for term-time placement
      • Process for vacation placement
      4. Evaluation and Feedback

The process is slightly different for our vacation placements, so if you are a Vacation Placement Provider please read through 'About Placement', 'Expectations' and then in Process, only read 'Getting Started for Vacation Placement', 'Setting up Placement' and 'Process for Vacation Placement'.

Within the Process section are forms that need to be submitted before we can authorise an LST student on placement with you.
