    • Employment experts these days warn us that work experience is “no longer an optional extra” for universities, and state that they have increasingly become an essential element of preparing for the employment market. The Daily Telegraph quotes the statistic that undergraduate students who go on practical experience are three times as likely to get employment on graduation.

      More importantly in our context, Jesus told his disciples to go and make disciples; he applauded those who fed the hungry, clothed the naked, invited the stranger in.  We are called to do likewise.  As we step out in obedience, God seems to open a door of opportunity in a work experience context which can play a significant role in setting a student’s path for life after LST.

      Entered into with a servant heart, these experiences will help you grow in grace and godly character, whilst developing key transferable skills, helping you analyse your skills and sharpen your vocational focus.  Built into your own employability folder, they provide a body of evidence of upskilling which today’s employers look for in their applicants.
