Term Time Placements

You can continue on a term-time placement which will involve a weekly commitment through LST term-times (as at L4).  L5 placement is timetabled for a minimum 82 hours (averaging 4.5 hours over 20 placement weeks, Oct-May).  This should be evenly spread over two semesters (no more than 45 hours will generally be authorised in your first semester, though you are welcome to do more).  There is no upper limit to placement hours, as long as neither your studies nor your well-being is compromised.  Please come to see us if you feel your supervisor’s expectations of you are unrealistic and we will work with you to resolve this.

Getting your placement underway by the end of October is important: time is short and it is largely those students who delay at the beginning who struggle to complete at the end.
