  • Term-time or block placement over vacation

      Practical Placement II (TH5008) builds on Practical Placement I.  It provides an effective training environment for students to develop the knowledge, skills and spiritual gifts for Christian engagement on a practical level within a ministerial and/or vocational context. It also deepens theological reflective skills and encourages the integration of learning through acquisition, participation and reflection, with respect to personal and spiritual formation as a Christian disciple.

      At this level, the responsibility for organising your placement lies with you – but we have many great placement partner organisations you can choose from and we in Vocational Services will support you throughout.

      At Level 5 we expect you to deepen and develop the gifts, skills and godly character God is investing in you. These can lead either to a church-based ministry after LST OR to an entirely different vocational goal. Placement will look different accordingly and the placement possibilities are limited only by your imagination!  You can go into social action, mission (UK or overseas), the charity sector or secular workplace, or continue in a church setting: whatever might lay foundations for your future vocation: this is the chance to test God’s call.

      As well as a choice in what area you choose for placement you can also choose how you undertake placement:
      (i)    Weekly throughout LST term-times
      (ii)    Intensively through an LST vacation.
