This course aims to help students to understand their historical context and, in particular, the way modern church history and contemporary history inform each other; to understand some issues of contemporary theological interest, especially those which have been controversial and to think through an informed position for themselves on these issues.

This is an optional Level 6 course for students registered for the HE Cert, HE Dip and BA Hons in Theology.

The aims of this module are to equip students to engage critically in the exegetical, hermeneutical and theological analysis of a selected New Testament text, and identify its theological relevance, practical application and transformative potential with respect to both the contemporary Church and wider world in the context of evangelical Christian theology.

The aims of this module are to engage the student with autonomous learning in the production of a project of independent research to display the integration and consolidation of their learning through the programme.
